Somewhere in my early teenage years, I was struck by the emphasis of verse 7: “Get wisdom!” It felt as though this was equally as strong as the New Testament imperatives I was familiar with, such as “love God and neighbor” or “go, therefore, and make disciples.” Could it be that “get wisdom” carries as much punch as the Great Commandment and the Great Commission?
